Victoria Kapralova
cellist
was born in Volgograd, Russia where she started music instruction at the age of
six. She finished her primary and secondary music schools, where she studied
Cello and piano, with distinction. After she joined the Volgograd Conservatory
where she studied for Five years, she became Concertmaster of the Lyric Theater
in Volgograd and afterwards member of the Academic Symphony Orchestra (under
Eduard Sirov) of her native city. Mrs. Kapralova was the Associate Concertmaster
of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra 1997- 2000. She is also the Concertmaster of the
Cello group of the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra since 2003. Manifold activity
as a chamber music performer at the Cairo Opera House, the Alexandria
International Conference Centre, the Sekem Academy, AUC and the Russian Cultural
Centre in Cairo. She has appeared as a soloist with the Volgograd Academic
Symphony Orchestra where she played Haydn’s C major Cello concerto with great
success. In 2006 Mrs. Kapralova gave a series of chamber music concerts at
different venues in Cairo. Her performance of F. Danzi’s variations on a theme
by Mozart at the Ewart Memorial Hall of the AUC was met with standing ovations.
Mrs. Kapralova appears regularly as soloist with the Philharmonic Chamber
Orchestra. In 2008 she performed as soloist with the Vronesh Symphony Orchestra
on their tour in Austria . Future appearances include solo recitals and
concertos with orchestra in both Vienna and Cairo.
